Ben Bassi, President of CommonPlaces, Inc. was named to the National Small Business Association (NSBA) Leadership and Technology Councils. NSBA is the nation’s oldest small-business advocacy organization and operates on a staunchly nonpartisan basis. Bassi, a recognized leader in the small-business community, joins the NSBA Leadership Council alongside other small-business advocates from across the country as they work to promote the interests of small business to policymakers in Washington, D.C.

“It’s an honor to be selected to be on NSBA’s Leadership and Technology Councils,” states Bassi. “Almost half of all American employees work for small businesses. I look forward to working with Congress on legislation helping small businesses across America. Together we can provide American businesses with the benefits they need to compete and prosper.”

Bassi is an experienced tech entrepreneur with over 45 years of experience starting and growing businesses. In 2003, he founded CommonPlaces, a web development and digital agency that has since become one of the most respected agencies in the country. He has successfully led and developed a team that has delivered over 1,000 projects to major clients such as Staples, IBM, and Waste Management.

“I am proud to have Ben as part of our Leadership Council,” stated NSBA President and CEO Todd McCracken. “He came to us highly recommended and I look forward to our coordinated efforts for years to come.”

Bassi joined the NSBA Leadership and Technology Councils as part of his efforts to tackle the many critical issues facing small businesses, including tax reform, regulatory restraint, health care costs, and how access to capital will impact small businesses. The NSBA Leadership Council is focused on providing valuable networking between small-business advocates from across the country while ensuring small businesses a seat at the table as Congress and regulators take up key small-business proposals. Bassi’s government experience includes the NH Governor’s Advisory Board, Department of Labor advocate, and visiting the White House with the On The Job Training (OJT) Program.
